seo – what is it?

Hey guys,
As my first blog I thought I would keep this one short and sweet, by answering an obvious question: what is SEO?
All SEO actually stands for is ’search engine optimisation’. Through utilising specific shorttail and longtail keywords, I can use these keywords to get a website to rank higher on search engines such as Google and Yahoo.
Let’s say for examples sake I was doing SEO for a weight loss product.
If I was trying to get their site to rank for the word ‘diet pill’, I would integrate this specific keyword into relevant sections within their copy to help increase their sites searchability. The more it is referenced, the more surfers are liable to find this website when they type in this term.
And that on a basic level is it.
Admittedly, SEO is much more complicated than the quick summation I have given you above, but we will get around this in the coming weeks when I shall go into this topic in more detail.
